Description

The application and disclosure processes for employees with disabilities changed in 2024, and many employees and supervisors are experiencing the interactive accommodation process for the first time. During this interactive session, participants will review the new application and disclosure processes in Workday, the basics of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the steps in the interactive accommodation process. Then, the presenters will lead a discussion about case studies to explore recent trends in accommodation requests for employees in higher education and other industries. This session is suited for employees and supervisors seeking to learn more about how to apply for and provide a disability accommodation and anyone interested in improving their familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Learning Outcomes - Participants will be able to:

  • Use Workday to apply for a disability accommodation and disclose disability status
  • Learn about the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Identify the steps in the interactive accommodation process from the perspective of an employee and a supervisor
  • Identify trends in accommodation requests
