Flutist and composer Daniel Cueto presents a lecture-recital on his

professor, Dr. James Thompson.
Born and raised in Lima-Peru to Peruvian and American parents,
Daniel Cueto's compositions reflect his deep roots in both Western
Classical and Latin American musical traditions. His works have been
described as "cleverly melding rich traditional Peruvian melodic
and rhythmic elements with a contemporary flair, creating a personal
style that is both pleasing and accessible to the listener and
performer". To date, his music has been performed in over twenty
countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Malta, Argentina, Brazil,
Mexico and the USA. A committed and passionate educator, he has held
teaching posts at two German universities (Hochschule für Musik und
Tanz Köln, Hochschule für Musik Detmold) and has been guest lecturer
at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Currently, he serves
as Adjunct Instructor at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
in Bloomington, IN.
