No Man’s Land Film Screening

Wednesday, April 9

No Man's Land Film Festival Logo

No Man’s Land Film Festival highlights the voices and stories of women and other non conforming athletes, with a particular focus on outdoor adventure, sports, and other typically male-dominated fields. By centering women’s experiences, the festival amplifies voices that have often been marginalized, fostering an environment where gender equality can thrive. Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and the No Man’s Land Film Festival both focus on raising awareness and advocating for gender equity, safety, and justice, though they do so in different ways. Tying them together emphasizes the shared goal of challenging harmful narratives and fostering dialogue about women's rights, safety, and representation.

Film screening brought to you in partnership with GVSU Recreation and Wellness, Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity, and Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center.

Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center

Red Jeans Redemption

Thursday, April 17

Pair of red jeans hanging on a fence, with a survivor's story inscribed on the jeans.

Red Jeans Redemption gives voice to the voiceless by sharing once-hidden stories of sexual abuse, rape and sex trafficking. As survivors inscribe their stories onto a pair of red jeans, their art becomes a concrete witness to their trauma. Together, these pieces form an exhibit that promotes healing and hope for survivors, educates the public, and sounds the alarm for awareness and action.

This event is in partnership with Healing in Arts.
